The University Health Center now offers Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner services, which increases access to evidence collection for student survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

Students can easily schedule an initial evaluation appointment online with CAPS.

Monday, August 8, 2022 CAPS offers online same-day scheduling

New this fall, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is offering online scheduling for students seeking an initial evaluation appointment. To schedule an appointment, students are encouraged to go online the morning of the same day they’d like to meet with a provider.

The online appointment scheduling is only for students who are new to CAPS.

The need for mental health support has never been greater on college campuses. This year’s Give to Lincoln Day on May 26 provides an opportunity to help campus programs that support University of Nebraska‒Lincoln students.

Meal Kit Mondays will be offered on June 13 and June 27. Cost is $15 per meal, which each serving four.

In the current academic year, interest in the suicide prevention training program has increased significantly — especially among students.

A memorial fund established by his family is honoring Alex Kearns. The fund will provide financial support to the Big Red Resilience and Well Being program.

Husker Alex Kearns would have been a senior this year and preparing to receive his business degree on the turf of Memorial Stadium. Sadly, after reviewing an online financial transaction that was not what it appeared to be, Kearns died by suicide on June 12, 2020.

In summer 2022, the university’s Center for Advocacy, Response and Education — a hub that supports Huskers who have experienced sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, stalking, harassment and other crimes — will open in a larger, newly-renovated space within Neihardt Center.

When moving out, consider whether some items may be able to be reused rather than thrown away.
