Survey and Slices creates fun environment for Campus Climate Survey

Friday, March 10, 2017 Survey and Slices creates fun environment for Campus Climate Survey

On Feb. 28, the LGBTQA+ Resource Center hosted Survey and Slices, a fun, low-stress event where 30 students enjoyed free pizza as they completed the Center’s online Campus Climate Survey.

The survey, which consists of 150 questions and takes 30 minutes to complete, gives university staff and faculty a better understanding of how the campus climate affects LGBTQA+ students.

“These kinds of surveys are very important to conduct in order to know how our campus climate is affecting our students,” said Stephanie Blair, graduate assistant for the LGBTQA+ Resource Center. “We hope that we are able to not only see how we have progressed on campus over time but also to use the data to help us keep the movement going and improve or make changes where needed.”

This is the university's third time conducting the survey. Similar studies occurred in 2002 and 2009. The survey closes on Mar. 31, and as of Mar. 10, 350 students had completed the survey.
