Unique to Nebraska, Big Red Talks provide entertaining and inspirational messages that showcase the formative impact of experiences outside the classroom. Through short 20-minute stories and interactive dialogue, alumni and community members will inspire students and one another.

Katie Brossy

Welcome back Katie Brossy (UNL '01)! Katie earned her bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001 and her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2005.

She recently was named one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by Trending 40 in Washington, D.C., and a Woman of Distinction by the Lyre magazine, the national publication for Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Brossy was a member of the legal team that helped reach one of the largest Indian water rights settlements in U.S. History, which provided $460 million to the Crow Tribe. She is a member of the Ponca Tribe and is also Santee Sioux. She is a past president of the Native American Bar Association of Washington, D.C., and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Notah Begay III Foundation.
