Discover the first LGBTQA+ historical marker in Nebraska

The state historical marker – the first to honor an openly LGBTQA+ person – was installed in fall 2022, outside of Andrews Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Dr. Louis Crompton was an LGBTQA+ advocate who taught UNL’s first course on LGBTQA+ studies and advised the first LGBTQA+ group on campus.

Wednesday, May 24, 2023 Commission to host Crompton dedication June 20

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Gender and Sexual Identity will host the dedication of the Louis Crompton Historical Marker at 10 a.m. June 20 on the south lawn of Andrews Hall. Along with the Commission, other sponsors include the Chancellor’s Office, the LGBTQA+ Resource Center and History Nebraska.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has announced three finalists for the vice chancellor for student affairs position. Selected through a national search, the candidates will visit campus between May 8-18.

Monday, April 3, 2023 Students shave their hair for childhood cancer, raise over $9,000

[Daily Nebraskan] St. Baldrick’s Shave for the Brave event raised $9,190 for childhood cancer and had 14 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students shave their hair to spread awareness for childhood cancer.
