Two students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln were elected to the 2017-2018 NIRSA Board of Directors and Member Network. As the national organization for professionals and students in collegiate recreation, NIRSA’s student leadership team is comprised of six regional leaders and one national leader.

Corbin Ross, a graduate student in the Educational Administration and graduate assistant in Campus Recreation, will serve as the National Student Leader. In his role he will work with the national association’s board of directors on topics related to students, including nominations and appointments, awards selection and monthly correspondence to all members.

Taylor Sidore, a graduate student in Nutrition and Health Sciences, will serve as the Region V Regional Student Leader.

Both students will provide presentations at state, regional and specialty conferences; assist in planning the national NIRSA conference; guide a mentorship program; lead the state leadership selection process; and solicit nominations for regional awards. Their term begins May 1 and will last one year.
