
Application procedure for Master's Program in Educational Administration: Student Affairs
There are three components you must complete to apply for the UNL Student Affairs Program. These three components consist of you applying for a M.A./M.Ed. in Educational Administration: Student Affairs (out of the Department of Educational Administration) and then applying to be a part of the UNL Student Affairs Master's Program where Student Affairs assistantships are funded by the Office of Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
Component 1: Application to the Office of Graduate Studies
Those applying for admission to the Department of Educational Administration for admission to preparation programs must first submit the following items to:

***Graduate Studies requires online submission of the application. Printed forms are not accepted***
Needed for completion of the Graduate Studies application:
- UNL Graduate Studies application form. To download the application form please go to http://www.unl.edu/gradstudies and select "Apply Online". This will take you to the "Application for Graduate Admission."
- $45 non-refundable application processing fee
- Two official copies of college/university transcripts
- Demonstrate English proficiency (if your native language is not English) by providing at least one of the following:
- paper-based TOEFL score of at least 500
- computer-based TOEFL score of at least 173
- IELTS score of at least 6.0
*Please allow 7-10 days for your Graduate Studies online application to reach the department.
*Please indicate that you are interested in Educational Administration - Specialization in Student Affairs
Component 2: Application to the Department of Educational Administration
You must apply for the Master's Program in Educational Administration: Student Affairs.
The application to the Department of Educational Administration is submitted to:

Deadlines
Both applications need to be turned in by February 1st, 2008.
Please note the Department of Educational Administration must be notified that you have been accepted into Graduate Studies before they can accept you into the department. Therefore, a suggested date to have your application turned into Graduate Studies would be January 7, 2008.
Component 3: Interview Component for the Student Affairs Master's Program.
Once you have been accepted by both Graduate Studies and the Department of Educational Administration, your application submitted to the Department of Educational Administration will be reviewed by the Student Affairs Master’s Program Coordinators.
After all applications have been reviewed selected candidates will be asked to do an on campus interview (or phone interview if travel to UNL can not be made).
After all interviews have occurred candidates will be notified if they were selected.
Application Time Line Overview for the UNL Student Affairs Master's Program:
- January 7th
- Suggested date to have your application turned into Graduate Studies.
- February 1st
- Department of Educational Administration must receive your application (Deadline Date).
- March 1st (Tentative)
- Selected candidates will be invited for an on-campus interview.
- Tentative dates for on-campus interviews:
- March 6th
- March 13th
- March 27th
- April 3rd
- April 10th
Students will be notified on or before April 10th if they have been selected for the UNL Student Affairs Master's Program.
Students notify the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of their decision to attend UNL and accept the assistantship by April 15th (tentative).
